Hải Phòng ( listen), also Haiphong, is the 3rd largest city of population, economy and information technology in Vietnam. The name means "coastal defence". Haiphong is also called "The City of the Red Flamboyant", because there are a lot of flamboyant trees planted in the city. Haiphong is the largest 1st-class city, and is an economic, industrial, commercial and educational center in Vietnam. With the advantage of having deep-watered ports, maritime transport there is very developed.
